Braised Corned Beef with Maple Syrup

Braised Corned Beef with Maple Syrup

Ingredients:
4lbs corned beef
1c maple syrup
1/4c bourbon (optional)

Directions:
Place brisket on rack in roasting pan and bake at 325 degrees uncovered for 30 minutes.
Reduce heat to 275 degrees, cover and bake 2 hours.
Uncover and reserve 1/2c liquid, discard the rest.
Add maple syrup (and bourbon) to liquid and pour over corned beef.
Continue baking, basting frequently for 1 hour.
Serve liquid as sauce when done.
